JEEVIKA DIDIS ARE WRITING SAGA OF DEVELOPMENT WITH Rs. 350 CRORES WORKING CAPITAL

ARA-------------------------------21170 Jeevika Didis groups of Bhojpur district are earning Rs. 9 crore per annum. In this way, half of the population in Bhojpur district is writing a new story of economic revolution every day. Jeevika Didi groups have received working capital of Rs. 250 crores from various banks for conducting various business activities while Jeevika has provided financial assistance of Rs. 100 crores to these groups. So far, 21170 Jeevika Didi groups have been formed in Bhojpur district and 254809 women have been made self-reliant by connecting them with employment. In this way, Jeevika Didi groups in Bhojpur are earning Rs. 9 crore every year from the turnover of various businesses amounting to Rs. 350 crores. It is noteworthy that in the district, Jeevika Didis are creating new employment opportunities for themselves by choosing different areas of employment which include poultry farming, bee-keeping, farming using new methods, various types of business as well as banking business as Bank Sakhis.

The women who are working as Bank Sakhis, are earning an income of Rs. 25,000 to 40,000 per month. It should be noted that the Jeevika Didi groups of different blocks of Bhojpur district which are associated with the Jeevika Didi groups are benefitting from the financing of the banks. Among them there 1801 Jeevika Didi groups of Shahpur block in which 20777 women are doing business. Similarly, 19470 women associated with 1644 Jeevika Didi groups of Ara block whereas 26064 women associated with 1995 Jeevika Didi groups of Badahara block, 16321 women from 1375 Jeevika Didi groups of Koelwar block, 13339 women from 1098 Jeevika Didi groups in Sandesh block, 14340 women from 1178 Jeevika Didi groups in Udwantnagar block, 13643 women from 1159 Jeevika Didi groups in Bihia block, 27628 women from 2283 Jeevka Didi groups in Jagdishpur block,  26609 women from 2208 Jeevika Didi groups in Piro block, 13464 women from 1140 Jeevika Didi groups in Charpokhari block, 12185 women from 967 Jeevika Didi groups in Gadhani block, 16015 women from 1336 Jeevika Didi groups in Agiaw block, 20375 women from 1787 Jeevika Didi groups in Tarari block and14579 from 1199 Jeevika Didi groups in Sahar block are engaged in increasing their income through various businesses. In this way, half of the population in Bhojpur district seems to be moving towards bringing revolution in employment sector by joining Jeevika Groups.

Bhojpur DPM, Jeevika, Varun Kumar said that 254809 women are associated with 21170 Jeevika Didi groups are earning Rs. 9 crore per annum from the turnover of Rs. 350 crore.
