IT RAIDS AT BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS OF MLC AND A BUSINESSMAN OF ARA
--A team of Income Tax Department has tightened noose around the neck of businessmen including the MLC cum JD(U) State General Secretary and conducted raids on Tuesday at different establishments of an MLC cum State General Secretary, Janata Dal (United) Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji from New Delhi to Ara.
Ara, 7 February 2023, (RNI): A team of Income Tax Department has tightened noose around the neck of businessmen including the MLC cum JD(U) State General Secretary and conducted raids on Tuesday at different establishments of an MLC cum State General Secretary, Janata Dal (United) Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji from New Delhi to Ara. The raids are still going on under the cover of heavy police force. Besides, the team of the Income Tax Department conducted raids at the establishments of a renowned businessman of Ara, late Harkhen Kumar Jain at Ara and a director of Broadson company. CRPF and SSB personnel are deployed in and around the business establishments to maintain law and order but the local police were kept aloof.
A team of Income Tax Vigilance Wing, Bihar and Jharkhand in three vehicles along with heavy police force reached Ara at about 7.30 am on Tuesday and conducted raids at different business establishments of the MLC cum JD(U) State General Secretary Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji including his houses at Babu Bazaar and Anaith, Hotel near Shaheed Bhawan, Resort at Bypass and others and establishments in Patel Nagar Road No 8 in Patna and reportedly in Delhi too. The IT Department sleuth also raided the house of Sand dealer who was once director of Broadson Private Limited, at Ward No 7 Koelwar Nagar Panchayat Pathan Toli in Bhojpur district Dr Ashok Prasad. Besides, the IT department raided different business establishment of once a renowned businessman of Ara late Harkhen Kumar Jain who is said to be very much close to Radha Charan Sah, District Board member and Seth Ji’s sister Jyoti Soni and BJP leader Jeevan Kumar.
Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji is related to Sand Syndicate and has good relation with big sand dealers of Koelwar in Bhojpur, Parev of Patna in Bihata, Aurangabad and Gaya for quite long time. He won the MLC election from Bhojpur-Buxar seat for the second time in a row in April, 2022 by defeating the UPA candidate Anil Samrat and was nominated the State General Secretary of the JD(U) in July 2022. He was in touch with several senior leaders in the JD(U) and had been in RJD once. It was said that he had accumulated huge money from Sand dealing.
Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji of Badahara block in Bhojpur district had a funnel cake (jalebi) and sweetmeat shop outside the Ara railway station in the 1970s. Though he is not much educated, he is sweet natured and so the acquaintances called him “Seth Ji” with affection. Later he became owner of a Hotel and joined real state business and when the Bihar government started giving contract of Sand Ghat, he did not lag behind and rose to a wealthy person of Ara and joined the sand syndicate too. He had contested MLC election in the year 2015 on RJD ticket and defeated Hulas Pandey by 329 votes. He later joined the JD(U) and retained the MLC seat in the year 2022. He also had a Hotel at Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh. He had celebrated the 25th marriage anniversary of elder son Kanhaiya Sah on February 5, 2023 at a Resort at Bypass and several political leaders had participated in it.
Reportedly, the scions of Harkhen Kumar Jain had borrowed crores of money from Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji but did not return them and so they had to sell out the Dharmshala at Sheesh Mahal Chowk, Hospital, building and Marriage Hall at Hari Jee Ka Hata and the Harkhen Kumar Jain Gyan Sthali at Mahadeva Road. Even the jewelry shop at Gopali Chowk was sold out. It was said that Harkhen Kumar Jain was a street vendor in his early life and accumulated huge money and opened a number of business establishments and purchased several properties in Patna and Delhi. The son and grandson of late Harkhen Kumar Jain had become so arrogant that they threatened people with dire consequences.
