IN A PLEASURE FIRING, A MINOR BOY SHOT DEAD IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA (RNI) Irate villagers blocked the Tetaria Mor under Udwantnagar police station with the body of minor boy at about three hours in the afternoon and paralyzed movement of the vehicles. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against district administration. They were demanding arrest of miscreant, security for the family members and compensation for the family of the deceased. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officials. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as a Class II student, Ashish Kumar 8 son of Sintu Kumar of Tetariya village under Udwantnagar police station.

Baban Singh, cousin grandfather of the deceased said that some armed miscreants had shot dead his cousin brother Ramayan Singh on December 1, 2023 merely for protesting taking meal by Ramayan Singh and a named FIR was lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station Nirantan Singh, his sons Kunal Singh and Karan Singh of South Ekauna village under Udwantnagar police station and Chhotu Singh alias Ajit Singh of the same village in this regard on the statement of Sintu Kumar son of the deceased. He had gone to the Ara Civil Court on February 19, 2025 as witness in the murder case. He said that Sintu Kumar, father of the deceased was to be witnessed in the court on March 11, 2025. He further said that Nirantan Singh frequently threatened him with dire consequences not to go to the court for witness. He stated that Ashish Kumar along with his family members had gone to Angarua village under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district on March 9, 2025 in the night to attend marriage ceremony of his neighbour Ram Bachan Singh’s daughter. During the marriage ceremony, someone fired and the bullet hit the head of Ashish Kumar and was injured. The family members rushed him to the Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred him to the Patna Medical College and Hospital in precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the PMCH. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station against Anshu Kumar son of Raju Yadav of Tetariya village under Udwantnagar police station. As the news spread, the villagers became agitated and blocked the Tetariya Mor under Udwantnagar police station with the body of the deceased for about three hours and paralyzed movement of vehicles. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officials. Police are investigating the matter.
