IMFL SEZIED WORTH ABOUT Rs.7 LAKH

ARA (RNI) One has never seen trolley inside the trolley for liquor smuiggling in Bihar. Even the police were stunned.

Liquor mafias are continuously active in Bihar despite the government is bent upon to curve the selling and purchase of liquor in the state. The prohibition department conducted raids.

The Excise Department got information that India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh in a tractor. The department swung into action and seized IMFL worth about Rs. 7 lakh loaded on a tractor near Daulatpur village and arrested the driver Bhirgunath Yadav.

The liquor mafias are flouting the liquor prohibition law in Bihar frequently. They are smuggling liquor by adopting new methods. The Excise Department launched a campaign against illegal liquor in Bhojpur district and recovered huge amount of liquor worth about Rs. 7 lakh loaded on a tractor. The liquor was smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Ara and arrested the driver.

Even after the liquor ban law in Bihar, the liquor mafias have intensified their activities all the more and adopted new method of smuggling. The Excise Department is conducting raids regularly.

Assistant Commissioner, Excise Department, Rajneesh said that he got information that a large quantity of IMFL was being smuggled to Ara in a tractor from Uttar Pradesh. He at once formed a team under the Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar and the team intercepted a tractor near Daulatpur Over Bridge on Buxar-Patna main road under Ara Muffassil police station. A secret cell was built in the tractor trolley and a large number of IMFL was hidden inside the cell. Even the officers of the Excise Department were baffled to see the cell built in the tractor trolley.

The Assistant Commissioner said that no registration number was found inscribed on any part of the tractor. The tractor driver Bhirgunath Yadav of Hazari Ke Tola under Khwaspur police outpost in Bhojpur district was arrested.
