Some unidentified miscreants stole an ancient idol of lord Ram made of brass, his throne, 18 pairs of jhals and utensils used in daily worship from an old Hanuma temple situated at the outskirt of Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district.

ARA------------------------Some unidentified miscreants stole an ancient idol of lord Ram made of brass, his throne, 18 pairs of jhals and utensils used in daily worship from an old Hanuma temple situated at the outskirt of Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station in Bhojpur district. The villagers lodged an FIR with the police under Sikarhatta police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Resentment prevails among the villagers and they are contemplating agitation if the police failed to arrest the miscreants and recover the idol of the lord.
The priest of the temple, Radhe Shyam Singh said that an old Hanuman temple is situated at the outskirt of Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta police station and hundreds of people came to offer worship here. In the morning when he went to the temple and found the gate the temple opened and the idol of lord Ram, his throne, 18 pairs of jhals and utensils used in daily prayer were missing. He informed the committee members about the incident and later they went to the Sikarhatta police station and lodged an FIR with the police under Sikarhatta police station in this regard.
SHO Sikarhatta police station, Pawan Kumar assured the villagers to recover the idol and arrest the miscreants at the earliest.
