ARA----------------------------Husband beat his wife to death at Kateya village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district and escaped from the scene. The deceased was identified as Gauri Devi 29 wife of Santosh Kumar alias Bhikhari of Kateya village. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Bihia police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreant.
SHO Bihia police station Rajesh Malakar said that Santosh Kumar alias Bhikhari had a grocery shop at Kateya village. He had some tiff with his wife and so he badly thrashed her. Hearing the cry of his wife, the villagers rushed to the spot but till she breathed her last. Seeing his wife dead, Santosh Kumar alias Bhikhari escaped from the scene. The deceased had a six year old son who was left all alone in the house. Meanwhile, parents of the deceased from Jagdishpur, came and took the minor boy with them. Bhikhari’s father had earlier died while his mother lived with her younger son in Gujarat.
