HUSBAND KILLED WIFE FOR A MOTORCYCLE

Ara, 21 April 2023, (RNI): Husband strangulated to death his wife at Dhandiha village under Koelwar police station merely for a motorcycle in dowry. Police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Amrita Kumari 22 wife of Vikas Kumar of Dhandiha village. Police arrested father-in-law and the mother-in-law of the deceased.

Amrita Kumari daughter of Kamlesh Chaudhary of Bigaha village under Hulasganj police station of Jehanabad district was married to Vikas Kumar son of Ganesh Chaudhary of Dhandiha village under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district on June 8, 2022. Though parents of the deceased had given a lot of gifts at the time of marriage, the in-laws started torturing her merely for a motorcycle. Amrita Kumari had informed her parents regarding her ordeal. When their demand was not fulfilled, her husband along with his parents, strangulated his wife and killed her. Ganesh Chaudhary informed parents of the deceased about the death. They rushed to the spot and saw that body of Amirta Kumari was lying on floor and husband was not there.
