Dr. Satya Narayan Upadhyaya said that the festival of Holi has been celebrated since the Vedic period. Holi Milan ceremony was organized at the Bandhan Tola residence of Dr. Nand Jee Dubey under the joint aegis of Bhojpur District Hindi Sahitya Sammelan and All India Academic Council, Bhojpur. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Dr. Madan Mohan Dwiwedi and it was conducted by litterateur Janardan Mishra.
District President, Bhojpur District Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Dr. Nand Jee Dubey welcomed the distinguished guests, scholars and poets in a humorous and satirical Holi. Both the president and the Chief guest were honoured with the title of ‘Popat, Mahapopat and Baklol and were crowned.
Shiv Das Singh Ji inaugurated the Kavi Sammelan with ‘Bangla Mein Udela Abeer Ho Lala’ Chaita. Chief Guest Dr. Madan Mohan Dwiwedi sang Holi song in his melodious voice. Alakh Anari, Ajay Kumar, Dr. Mamta Mishra, Dr. Renu Mishra, Surendra Singh, Nathuni Pandey, Keshav Thakur, Arvind Singh, Sharad Kumar, Ravindra Shahabadi, Dauji, poets like Pandey Ramesh Singh etc. enthralled the audience with their poetry recitations. Former Principal, Dr. Kamal Kumari, former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Durgvijay Singh and Mr. Vednidhi Sharma threw light on the classical and secular importance of Holi. Later Dr. Nand Je Dubey expressed his gratitude to all the guests. The function ended with a feast of traditional Holi dishes and people present hugged each other and wished them a Happy Holi.
