ARA----------------------------Bhojpur police detained a youth from Ara for interrogation in connection with demanding extortion of Rs. 50 lakh and threatening to kill a famous Bhojpuri film actress Akshara Singh. The arrested youth was identified as Kundan Kumar Singh, son of Satyendra Singh of Khopira village under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district. He is said to the grandson of Ranveer Sena Supremo Barmeshwar Nath Singh alias Mukhiya Ji. Indu Bhushan Singh, uncle of arrested Kundann Singh and son of late Barmeshwar Nath Singh alias Mukhia Jee, termed all the allegations as baseless and the incident as a political conspiracy.

Akshara Singh received a call from two different numbers of the night of November 12, 2024 at about 12.20am and as soon as she picked up the phone, the caller started abusing her and threatening her with dire consequences. The caller allegedly demanded Rs. 50 lakh from Akshara Singh and threatening with dire consequences if she dared not pay the money with two days. Akshara Singh immediately complained to the DIG and demanded action against the caller and security for herself.

Akshaara Singh said that she received the first call at aboutn12.20am and the second call a minute later. The caller warned her that if Rs. 50 lakh was not parted with within two days, her life would be at stake. Akshara Singh is a well-known personality of Bhojpuri silver screen who made her debut with ‘Satyamev Jayate’ with Ravi Kishan. Apart from being an actress, she is also a famous singer. Akshara Singh has been a part of other reality shows including Big Boss. She also has been interest in local politics and is associated with Prashant Kishore’s ‘Jan Suraj Campaign.’

Indu Bhushan Singh said that this entire case has been done as part of a political conspiracy. He said that there was by-election in Tarari assembly election and all this happened on the instructions of those who are contesting the elections in Tarari. He added that Kundan Singh was making allegations and counter-allegations against the leaders contesting the Tarari by-election on social media. Indu Bhushan Singh referred to Sunil Pandey, father of NDA candidate, Vishal Prashant who contested from Tarari successfully. Although the name was not taken openly, Indu Bhushan Singh said that what kind of character Akshara Singh has, it is not hidden from anyone. Those people can go to any extent for money. He further alleged that such allegations have been made by her only after taking money because when Kundan Singh was arrested, her mobile was searched but no evidence was found from the mobile that Kundan Singh had called her or an extortion amount of Rs. 50 lakh was demanded. This clearly shows that such work has been done at the behest of someone. Besides, Indu Bhushan Singh said that Kundan Singh is a boozer and often gets into arguments after drinking. This time also he was sent to jail because of drinking alcohol, not in the case of Akshara Singh. As soon as Kundan Singh gets bail and comes out of the jail, he will institute a defamation case against Akshara Singh.
