GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVES FLOUTED AT THE ARA SADAR HOSPITAL

Ara, 30 April 2023, (RNI): Bihar government boasted to upgrade medicare system and provide all facilities in Hospitals of the State for the benefits of the poor patients, but the ground realities belied theirl claims and the Ara Sadar Hospital is no exception and this put a big question mark on the efficacy of the working of the government as well as the Bhojpur district administration. And lack of facilities cause a great problems for the poor patients who came to the Ara Sadar Hospital from remote corners of the district with a hope of good treatment and facilities but all proved a nonentities for them.

Ara Sadar Hospital is ISO certified but working and facilities are not as per the parameter of ISO. The government has made provisions change the bed sheets per day and even the colour of the bed sheets is fixed day wise but the Hospital management seldom sticks to the direction.  The government has fixed blue, Indigo, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red and Violet colour bed sheets for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively but the hospital management failed to change bed sheet as per the colour and day fixed by the government regularly for the health benefits of patients. Even the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients do not get the facility. Some of the patients even in the ICU, are not provided with the bed sheet that affect their heath adversely. The regular change of bed sheet scheme was launched so that the hospital management does not have any problem in their washing.

When contacted, the Civil Surgeon said that he would inquire into the matter.
