GOODS TRAIN DERAILED

Buxar, 9 April 2023, (RNI): Running of trains on the down lines in between Pt Din Dayal Upadhyaya to Patna under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway (ECR) is completely paralyzed as three bogies of a goods train derailed near the western railway crossing at Dumraon railway station in Buxar district today at about 11.45am though no casualty was reported so far. Several long distance trains stranded at different railway stations. Passengers particularly women and children harried lot for want of water and food in this summer season. As the news of derailment spread, officials of the railway department are on toes and rushed to the spot to inquire into the matter. They are trying to restore smooth running of trains.

SI RPF, Buxar post, Bijendra Kumar said that a goods train was coming towards Patna and as the train reached near western railway crossing at Dumraon railway station, three bogies of the train derailed with huge sound. Hearing the sound, people nearby rushed to the spot and informed the officials of the railway department at the Dumraon railway station. As the result, down line under Danapur rail division is completely paralyzed and several trains stranded at different railway stations. Even the road link in between Dumraon to Bhojpur was snapped. Wheels of the train are sunk into stone chips. The onlookers said that reason behind the derailment is not clear and it would be known after thorough inquiry.
