Buxar, 8 July 2023, (RNI): Employment generation will increase in Dumraon with the installation of flower processing unit in Agriculture College there.

The month of Shrawan is considered the month of Indian culture heritage and religious beliefs and devotees offer flowers to the deities in all small and big temples where a large amount of flowers are collected daily. The thrown flowers will not be wasted now and from the waste flowers, many things like fragrant incense sticks, face wash, colour gulal, flower manure like many natural products will be made. Biahr Agriculture University has invented many interesting methods regarding it.

The Vice Chancellor of the University Dr D R Singh has started for these products. Soon a flower processing unit will be set up at Dumraon Kuer Singh Agriculture College and employment generation will get a boost in Dumraon. The Department has started its initiative. The Principal of the local Agriculture College, Dr. Reyaz Ahamad, the Chief of Academic Cell, Dr. Mani Bhushan Thakur, Scientist Dr. Prakash, Horticulturist Dr. S R P Singh, Dr. A K Jain, Dr. Shanti Bhushan Prasad and others have expressed their happiness. If scientists are to be believed, the University administration has made up its mind to open a flower processing unit in every agriculture colleges but in this episode, the Dumraon Agriculture College has been given priority where the unit is being established.

The scientists say that flowers are sacred and so they are not thrown in dustbins along with garbage rather people dispose of it directly in local water bodies or in rivers or in ponds and thus pollute them. Researches find that most of these flowers become rotten and toxic to live living in the water.

The college administration hopes that the unit will be established in the month of Shrawan itself and flower waste will be collected from small and big temples along with famous temples of the area and will be used. Green wave collects flowers waste and use them eco-friendly. After drying the flowers, its powder will be made and mixed with the churn, it will be given in the form of fragrant incense sticks besides gulal, mosquito repellent cream, face wash, flower manure etc will also be made whose prices will be less than the market price.

About 150 to 200 jobs are likely to be generated to give new forms of production from flower waste in which number of women will be more. With the setup of this unit, awareness about eco-friendly health, handicraft production will prove to be helpful in increasing employment generation in which flowers can be collected manure produced and other products. Different departments will be setup for marketing and other tasks.

District Public Relation Officer Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that the university administration is working to develop the flower processing unit as a model from god to god. A proposal has is sent to the government to open this unit. Regarding this action plan, the gardens of the university and horticulturist have given the responsibility.
