FOUR YOUTHS MET THEIR WATERY GRAVE IN THE RIVER GANGA IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA (RNI) four youths met their watery grave in the river Ganga at Shivpur Ghat under Bahoranpur police outpost in Bhojpur district today while having a dip during Ganga Dussehara. The deceased were identified as Dipu Yadav, Sonu Yadav, Nishu Sharma and Ram Jee Gond of Kharauni village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district. A team of SDRF and local divers are trying to find out the bodies of the deceased but in vain so far. Officials of Bhojpurh district and hundreds of villagers rushed to the spot and chaos like situation prevails in and around the area.

During Ganga Dussehara, thousands of women, men, girls, youths from different parts of Bhojpur district gathered at Shivpur Ganga Ghat under Bahoranpur police outpost in Bhojpur district to have a dip in the river Ganga. During having a dip in the river, four youths of Kharauni village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district, Dipu Yadav, Sonu Yadav, Nishu Sharma and Ram Jee Gond, trapped in the fast current and were swayed away and also met their watery grave. People present there tried their best to rescue them but in vain. As the news spread, officials of Bhojpur district along with heavy police force rushed to the spot and also requisitioned a team of SDRF to search the bodies in the river but even after three hours of the incident, the SDRF failed to find out the bodies.

The onlookers said that the youths were making reels at the bridge about 200 meter west to the Shivpur Ganga Ghat and during the process, they fell into the river and went into the deep water. People made several efforts to rescue them but before they could reach them, all the four youths drowned in the deep water. They went missing due to strong current in the foothills of the river Ganga.

SHO Bahoranpur police outpost Abhay Shankar Singh said that a team of SDRF has been requisitioned and even the local divers are pressed into operation to find out the bodies all the four youths.
