FOUR PERSONS INJURED IN INDISCRIMINATE FIRING AT DURGA PUJA PANDAL IN THE WEE HOUR ON SUNDAY
Motorcycle borne armed miscreants fired indiscriminately at the Durga Puja Pandal at Maulabagh under Nawada police station in the wee hour on October 14, 2024 in which four persons including three members of the Durga Puja Committee received bullets and were injured.
Ara (RNI) Motorcycle borne armed miscreants fired indiscriminately at the Durga Puja Pandal at Maulabagh under Nawada police station in the wee hour on October 14, 2024 in which four persons including three members of the Durga Puja Committee received bullets and were injured. The injured were rushed to a private nursing home at Babu Bazaar where their condition is stated to be stable. Later the miscreants escaped from the scene waving the arms in the air. Personal dispute is said to be the cause behind the incident. Police rushed to the spot and are investigating the matter. The injured were identified as Arman Ansari 19 son of Kmaluddin Ansari, Sunil Kumar Yadav 26 son of Tuntun Yadav, Roshan Kumar 25 and Sipahi Kumar of Maulabagh locality. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident though the situation is said to be well under control. Police are camping in the area to avoid any untoward situation. Police recovered two blank cartridges from the spot.
Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that he got information that motorcycle borne two armed miscreants fired indiscriminately at the Pushp Kal Mandir Durga Puja Pandal at Maulabagh under Nawada police station in the wee hour today in which four persons including three members of Durga Puja Committee received bullet injuries. On information, police including the SHO Nawada police station Vipin Bihari rushed to the spot and started investigating the matter. The onlookers told the police that the incident took place in personal dispute. All the injured were admitted to a private nursing home at Babu Bazaar locality. The SP further said that the miscreants have been identified and the police are conducting raids to arrest them. He added that the miscreants would be arrested very soon.
One of the injured Sunil Kumar Yadav said that all the members of the Durga Puja Committee were sitting on a chairs near the Puja Pandal when motorcycle borne some armed miscreants arrived at and started firing indiscriminately in which three members of the Durga Puja Committee and one passerby received bullet injuries and were injured. Later the miscreants fled away from the scene.
The news of firing spread like wild fire and created ripples among the members of the other Durga Puja Committee and most of them rushed to the spot but the police tackled the situation tactfully.
