FOUR MISCREANTS WITH FIREARMS ARRESTED

Ara, 25 May 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police arrested four miscreants in connection with snatching of Rs. 5 lakh from a petrol pump owner near Ara town police station. The police arrested one of them from Ara while three others from Koelwar red handed when they were hatching plan to commit crime. The police also seized one country made pistol, five live cartridges and a motorcycle from them. The arrested miscreants were identified as Ankit Pandey and Rajnish Kumar alias Bhuwar of Manachak Annu Rahman of Kazichak under Koelwar police station and Arif of Kasai Tola under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district. Ankit Pandey was wanted in a loot of Rs. 10 lakh from a businessman of Bihita in Patna district.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the name of Arif of Kasai Tola under Ara town police station was highlighted in the loot of Rs 5 lakh from the owner of a petrol pump near Araya Samaj Mandir and at the gate of State Bank of India on May 11, 2023 and encounter with the police near Ara town police station and the police arrested him. In the encounter with the police one miscreant was arrested and two police personnel were injured and the looted money was recovered. The SP further said that he got information that five armed miscreants including the wanted miscreants in the bank loot under Bihita police station were hatching plan to commit crime on the road leading to Kulharia under Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road. He at once formed a police team under the ASP, Ara Chandra Prakash and the police team conducted raid near Manbhawan Chowk under Koelwar police station. Seeing the police the miscreants tried to escape but the police chased and arrested three of them though two miscreants fled away and recovered a country made pistol, five live cartridges and a motorcycle from them. The SP stated that during interrogation, the arrested miscreants confessed their involvement in the loot and encounter with the police. The fleeing both the miscreants were identified and the police are conducting raids to arrest them. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Koelwar police station against the five miscreants in connection with recovery of illegal arms and hatching of plan to loot.

The SP stated that seven miscreants were involved in the loot from the owner of a petrol pump at the bank gate near the Ara town police station on May 11, 2023 of which four were keeping vigil on police movement.
