Motorcycle borne two armed miscreants shot dead former Ward Councilor, Koelwar Nagar Panchayat Tribhuwan Mahato alias Raj Kumar near Mahamadpur Petrol Pump when he was returning home after purchasing vegetable and escaped from the scene towards Koelwar. As the news spread, the locals agitated and blocked Koelwar-Doriganj main road for about three hours and paralyzed movement of vehicles by burning tyres on road. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants.

ARA-------------------------Motorcycle borne two armed miscreants shot dead former Ward Councilor, Koelwar Nagar Panchayat Tribhuwan Mahato alias Raj Kumar near Mahamadpur Petrol Pump when he was returning home after purchasing vegetable and escaped from the scene towards Koelwar. As the news spread, the locals agitated and blocked Koelwar-Doriganj main road for about three hours and paralyzed movement of vehicles by burning tyres on road. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officials. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospial for postmortem. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Koelwar police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
SHO Koelwar police station Avinash Kumar said that Tribhuwan Mahato alias Raj Kumar, former Ward Councilor, Koelwar Nagar Panchayat had gone to the market. He purchased fish at Koelwar Chowk and moved towards Khira Bazaar near Mahamadpur Petrol pump where he purchased vegetables and as he was about to get in his car, motorcycle borne two armed miscreants came and pumped bullets into his neck from point blank range and killed him on spot and escaped towards Koelwar.
Tribhuwan Mahato alias Raj Kumar alias Chhotu a resident of Mishrapur Milki of Koelwar Ward No 1, was Ward Councilor of Ward No 1 of Koelwar Nagar Panchayat from 2007 to 2012. He at present lived in a rented house at near Koelwar Chowk. Presently he was in the illegal passing and entry business of sand and had been in jail in this regard. He had come out of the jail on bail recently and again involved himself in the illegal business. The family members of the deceased blamed Munna of Suraundha Colony under Koelwar police station who was his aide in the illegal sand business for the murder. The family members said that Munna was aide in the illegal sand business of Tribhuwan Mahato and he frequently visited Tribhuwan Mahato’s house. Munna came close to the wife of Tribhuwan Mahato and when Tribhuwan Mahato knew about it, the matter came to the police station but the admonished both of them and the matter was subsided and since they had some enmity. After the family members blamed Munna of the murder, the police reached Munna’s house but Munna was not there and so the police brought all the family members to the police station for interrogation.
Anita Devi wife of the deceased said that Tribhuwan Yadav had sold his old Bolero to a person of Old Haripur Manachak village some months ago and Rs. 5 lakh dues to him. That person had contested Mukhiya election and people called him Mukhia Jee. She said that Tribhuwan Mahato had said to go to him to demand his money and added both had some tiff some days ago. Police are investigating the matter from angle and also going through the CCTV footage.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that during investigation, love affairs, old enmity and family dispute are said to be cause behind the incident. A police team has been formed to investigate the matter. Several persons have been detained for interrogation and said that the police would arrest the miscreants at the earliest.
