FLORAL TRIBUTES TO MAHATMA JYOTIBA PHULE ON HIS 197TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

ARA (RNI) Floral tributes were paid to the great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his 197^th birth anniversary at the CPI-ML district office at Sritola Ara and the party leader garlanded his portrait. A resolution was passed to launch ‘Save Democracy-Save Constitution Campaign.’ It was also decided to launch campaign till April 22, 2024 during which a campaign will be conducted against the fascist forces that are destroying the social fabrics among the people.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI-ML District Secretary, Jawahar Lal Singh said that during the days of slavery, where there was ignorance about education among general public, people were stuck in the grip of conservative system and there was no right to study during the British rule. At that time, the great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Awareness about education infused consciousness among the people and they came forward to study. He expressed concern that today in the Modi government, Jyotiba Phule’s dreams are being handed over to Adani-Ambani. On one hand, Jyotiba Phule awakened the interest in education while on the other hand, in the Modi Government, the entire education system has been ruined. Education is being privatized which is common. Students are being deprived of education which has been considered a profitable business. Private education is being patronized by closing government schools and colleges which is suicidal for the country and the society as well. Therefore, to fulfill the dreams of Jyotiba Phule, there is a need to overthrow the Modi Government.

CPI-ML State Standing Committee member and Ara Lok Sabha candidate on INDIA Alliance ticket Sudama Prasad said that today Phule and Ambedkar will be honoured on their birth anniversary. To remember them to keep their revolutionary legacy alive and today when the future of constitutional democracy is at stake in India’a most decisive electoral battle. He said that we need to draw strength and inspiration from revolutionary legacy of Phule and Ambedkar. We must remember that Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar not only gave us the Constitution and reservation but also warned us about the dangers of devotion in politics. Giving recipe for dictatorship, he had said if Hindu Rashtra becomes a reality, we will face huge trouble. He added that let us imbibe the thoughts of Phule and Ambedkar while celebrating their birth anniversary and work with full dedication and strength to protect the Constitution and the democracy future of India.
