ARA-------------------------Some unidentified armed miscreants fired several rounds of bullets at Token Counter at TB Sanatorium Sand Ghat under Koewlar police station in Bhojpur district at about midnight allegedly in connection with illegal sand digging and carrying of sand from the Sand Ghat though untoward incident was reported. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident. Police are investigating the matter.
Employees were on duty at Token Counter near the mental health centre at Balu Ghat cluster number 3 at TB Sanatorium when about half a dozen unidentified armed miscreants came and showered volley of abuses on the employees and also started firing unprovoked that created chaos at the counter and the employees saved their lives by running towards the mental hospital and informed the Sand Ghat owner who later informed the police. SHO Koelwar police station along with police force rushed to the spot and started investigating the matter. The police also recovered six blank cartridges from the spot and found four bullet marks on the chair and one on the wall. The police had a talk with the people there before starting investigation.
It may be mentioned here that the government has issued some rules at the Sand Ghat which is to be followed strictly but they were overlooked openly. As per the rules, parking for vehicles, coming out of the mines and loaded with sand, CCTVs have to be arranged near Chalan Office, drinking water and other facilities but one CCTV is installed near the Chalan office to show up whereas there is no CCTV system near the entry and exit gates and that is why criminals dominate Sand Ghats and they easily get away after committing such crimes.
