FIRING AT THE RESIDENCE OF FORMER MAYOR CANDIDATE

ARA--------------------------Some armed miscreants fired at the house of former Mayor candidate and an acquaintance of minister Tez Pratap, Sweeti Kumari at Katira locality under Ara Nawada police station in Bhojpur district though no untoward incident happened. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara Nawada police station against some persons including Kundan Kumar son of Satyendra Singh and grandson of the Ranveer Sena supremo late Barhmeshwar Nath Singh alias Mukhia Jee on the statement of Sweeti Kumari’s husband Kumar Priyaranjan alias Gonu. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Police also recovered eight blank cartridges from the incident site.  

Quoting the FIR, the SHO Nawada police station Dharmendra Kumar said that Kumar Priyaranajan alias Gonu was at residence at Patna in the night on August 28, 2023 when at about 9pm Kundan Kumar son of Satyendra Singh and grandson of Ranveer Sena Supremo late Brahmeshwar Nath Singh alias Mukhia Jee called him on his mobile and demanded Rs.10 lakh as ‘rangdari’ with a threat of dire consequences if denied to yield to his demand. Later Kundan Kumar along with his associate covering their faces, reached his residence at Ara near Ambedkar Hostel at Katira under Nawada police station in the night and fired at least 10 rounds with a view to murder and escaped from the scene. The whole incident was captured in the CCTV footage that showed that a woman was talking on mobile walking in the verandah of the house of former Mayor Candidate Sweeti Kumari when the miscreants came and fired indiscriminately.
