FIRING AT THE HOUSE OF AN ARMYMAN AT ARA

ARA----------------------Dozens of rounds of firing and stone pelting took place at the soldier’s house at Anand Nagar colony under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district in the evening on October 2, 2023 in connection with car parking, though no untoward incident took place. The firing and stone pelting created panic in the area. An old history sheeter of the locality Mantu Kahar and over half a dozen of his henchmen are blamed for the firing. The firing and stone pelting incident is seen in the CCTV footage. The SHO Ara town police station along with police force rushed to the spot but the miscreants had fled away. The police recovered three blank cartridges from the incident site. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Ara town police station against nine persons including Mantu Kahar and over ten unnamed persons on the application of Jyoti Kumari wife of the CRPF personnel Radhe Shyam Tiwari.

SHO Ara town police station Sanjeev Kumar said that CRPF personnel Radhe Shyam Tiwari of Nainijor in Buxar district lived in his house at Anand Nagar locality under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district and tiles studding work was going on in his house and so some relatives had come in three cars and their cars were parked in front of the house. On this issue, they had dispute with Mantu Kahar’s henchmen and an altercation ensued between two sides. Meanwhile, Mantu Kahar’s henchmen opened fire and brick batting. Initial investigation has revealed that there was a dispute between the two parties about six months ago.

Jyoti Kumari, in her application to the police said that she lived in her Ara house all alone. Some relatives had come to her house on October 2, 2023 and she was engaged in serving refreshment when Mantu Kahar along with his henchmen came and started damaging the vehicles of her relatives parked outside the house. When she protested, Mantu Kahar and his henchmen scuffled with her. Seeing this, her relatives came to her rescue, Mantu Kahar and his henchmen opened fire. She also complained that Mantu Kahar had demanded Rs. 5 lakh extortion earlier.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that a person of Anand Nagar locality under Ara town police station called him that some persons were firing in front of his house. He immediately sent the SHO to the spot and added that the miscreants would be arrested after thorough investigation.
