FIR AGAINST FIVE POLICE PERSONNEL AND A SARPANCH
A named FIR was lodged with the police under Bihia police station against five police person including the then Station House Officer (SHO), Bihia police station and the Sarpanch, Osai Panchayat of Bihia block in Bhojpur district on the statement of an injured person Rahul Kumar Singh in connection with firing with a view to kill and also threatening with dire consequences. The FIR was lodged after six months of incident on the order of the Ara Civil Court.
Ara, 1 March 2023, (RNI): A named FIR was lodged with the police under Bihia police station against five police person including the then Station House Officer (SHO), Bihia police station and the Sarpanch, Osai Panchayat of Bihia block in Bhojpur district on the statement of an injured person Rahul Kumar Singh in connection with firing with a view to kill and also threatening with dire consequences. The FIR was lodged after six months of incident on the order of the Ara Civil Court. Police had fired after a clash in between two groups at Baruna village under Bihia police station on March 19, 2022 night during Holi festival. The FIR was lodged with the police under Bihia police station against the then SHO Bihia police station Shashi Bhushan Prasad, ASIs Ygendra Prasad Yadav and Ashok Mishra, Hawaldar Dhaneshwar Prasad, a constable Umesh Kumar and the Sarpanch Osai panchayat of Bihia block Man Jee Yadav. After the incident and under heavy public protest, the then Bhojpur SP had transferred the Bihia SHO to Udwantnagar police station in the same capacity.
Two groups of villagers had clashed over a drain dispute at Baruna village under Bihia police station on March 19, 2022 night on Holi festival and at least a dozen persons from both the groups were injured. The then SHO, Bihia police station Shashi Bhushan Prasad along with police force rushed to the spot and scuffled with the people. The agitating people pelted with stones on police force and the police retaliated and fired in which Rahul Kumar Singh 20 son of an SI Harendra Singh of Baruna village received bullet injuries. Irritated with the firing, the villagers thrashed police force in which five police personnel including the SHO were injured. An FIR was lodged with the police against 34 named and dozens of unknown persons in this regard and the police arrested nine persons and sent them to jail while 14 others surrendered before the court under police pressure. But no FIR was lodged by the police on the application of opposite party and so they knocked the door of the court and the court ordered to lodged a named FIR against the five police personnel including the SHO and the Sarpanch.
