ARA--------------------------A villager going to his village along with his son drowned into the river Banas while crossing the river but his son saved his life by holding a branch of a tree on the bank of the river dangling over the river. The deceased was identified as Nageshwar Ram 35 son of late Akal Ram of Ratnadh village. The villagers fished out the body and informed the police. They also rescued the child holding the branch of the tree and crying for help. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
SHO Charpokhari police station, Santosh Kumar Singh said that Nareshwar Ram was a resident of Ratnadh village but he lived along with his family members at his in-laws at Shantinagar under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur district. He was going to his village Ratnadh carrying his son Bhodal 6 on his shoulder. While crossing the Banas river near Dhamania village, he drowned into the river while his son Bhodal held a branch of a tree dangling over the river and somehow saved himself. He was sitting on the branch of the tree all the night and was crying but no one came to his rescue. In morning, the villagers herd his crying and took him down from the tree and saved him. Meanwhile, they saw a body floating in the river and the son recognized it as his father’s body.
