ARA-------------------------One person was killed while five other injured after some persons thrashed them with traditional weapons at Jamunipur village under Hasan Bazaar police outpost in Bhojpur district merely for plastering the old steers in front of the house. The deceased was identified as Krishna Chaudhary 62, a farmer and son of late Gulab Chand Chaudhary of Jamunipur village under Hasan Bazaar police outpost while the injured were identified as Ram Pravesh Singh, younger brother of the deceased, Ayodhya Chaudhary, cousin brother of the deceased and Shashi Suman Kumar and Ravi Kumar, nephew of the deceased. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured there. The police also detained five persons for interrogation in this regard.

Ram Pravesh Singh, brother of the deceased said that a steer was already made in front of his house and plaster of that steer was being done when some persons came and protested. He said that if other demolished the steers, he would do the same and the matter was hushed up at that time. In the morning when he was getting the steer plastered, they once again came and started thrashing Ram Pravesh Singh with traditional weapons after an argument ensued. Krishna Chaudhary and other came to his rescue, the miscreants also thrashed them and injured. All the injured were admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor referred Krishna Chaudhary to Patna Medical College and Hospital in precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the PMCH.
