ARA (RNI) Sleuth of Excise Department, acting on a tip off, seized 8678 bottles of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs. 35 lakh loaded in a truck behind the rotten vegetables and arrested a liquor smuggler from near Daulatpur under pass under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpr district. The arrested liquor smugger was identified as Pramod Kumar son of Kashi Ram of Manohar Nagar under Morapur police station of Farukhabad district in Uttar Pradesh. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Ara Muffassil police station in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police sent him to jail after interrogation.

Assistant Commissioner, Excise, Ara said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled in truck from Chandigarh in Punjab under the cover of rotten vegetable and was to be delivered in Muzzaffarpur in Bihar. He at once formed a police team that launched vehicle checking drive near Daulatpur Over Bridge under Ara Muffassil police. Meanwhile, a truck came and the police intercepted it and when searched, the police seized 8678 bottles of IMFL hidden under the rotten vegetables and the truck and also arrested a liquor smuggler.
