ARA-------------------------A team of Excise Department arrested a liquor smuggler and seized India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in large quantity from a car with fake number from near Bampali Mor under Gajrajganj police outpost in Bhojpur district. The arrested liquor smuggler was identified as Sudhir Kumar son of Upendra Rai of Jaganpura village under Samptak police station in Patna district. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Gajrajganj police outpost in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police sent him to jail after interrogation.
Assistant Excise Commissioner said that he got information IMFL in large quantity was being smuggled to Ara from Uttar Pradesh in a Boleno car. He at once formed a police team under the ASI, Excise, Rahul Kumar Dubey and the team intercepted a Boleno bearing fake registration number JH 05 BM-0285near Bampali Mod under Gajrajganj police outpost on Patna-Buxar main road and when searched, the police seized 1368 bottles of IMFL worth about Rs. 5 lakh and the original registration number of the car BR 01 EE 5765 from inside the car and arrested the liquor smuggler.
