ELDERLY PERSON CRUSHED TO DEATH IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA (RNI) A speeding vehicle crushed to death an elderly person near S V Traders on Bahiro-Piyania main road under Nawada police station in Bhojpur district. The deceased was identified as Uma Shankar Singh 59 son of late Madho Singh of Pratappur village under Sandesh police station. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased along with his family members lived at Burnpur locality at Shanti Nagar under Heerapur police station of Vardhman district in West Bengal and worked in the Steel Authority of India there.

Family members of the deceased said that Uma Shankar Singh had come to Gautam Buddh Nagar locality under Nawada police station in Bhojpur district from West Bengal in the night on February 5, 2025 to participate in the Home Warning ceremony of his cousin brother Hari Shankar Singh. He had also purchased a piece of land at Bahiro village and he was going to visit the land on foot when a speeding vehicle crushed him to death and the driver escaped from the scene after the incident.
