ARA-------------------------Speeding tractor crushed to death an elderly person near a Private School at Chowkipur village under Gajrajganj police outpost on Ara-Buxar National Highway in Bhojpur district when he was returning after attending call of nature in the morning. The deceased was identified as Radha Paswan 72 son of late Dashrath Paswan of Chokipur village. Irate villagers blocked the Ara-Buxar main road with the body and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding immediate arrest of the driver and compensation for the family members of the deceased. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officer. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Mahesh Paswan son of the deceased said that his father Radha Paswan had gone to the field in the village to attend call of nature and when he was returning, a speeding tractor knocked him down and the driver escaped from the scene after the incident. The family members rushed him to the Ara Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
