ARA---------------------------Sand laden speeding truck crushed to death bicycle borne an elderly person on Bihia-Bihata State Highway in the night on May 1, 2024. The deceased was identified as Baleshwar Ram 74 son of late Singhasan Ram of Mashiriya Tola under Piro police station in Bhojpur district.
As the news spread, irate villagers blocked the Bihia-Bihata State Highway near Bhagalpur Mod under Piro police station with the body of the deceased. They also paralyzed the movement of vehicles for about two hours and raised slogans against the district officials. The villagers were so agitated that they damaged at least 55 vehicles and also set ablaze truck. The SDPO, SDM along with police force rushed to the spot and persuaded the agitating people. Later the blockade could be lifted and the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
