ELABORATE ARRANGEMENTS OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT

Ara (RNI) Elaborate arrangement has been made for conduct of parliamentary election in 32-Ara parliamentary constituency 2024 and midterm election in 195-Agiaw Assembly Constituency in free and fair atmosphere in Bhojpur district. District Election Officer (DEO) cum Bhojpur District Magistrate (DM), Mahendra Kumar and the Bhojpur Superintendent of Police (SP), Neeraj Kumar Singh convened a joint press conference on the last date of withdrawal of names. 

The DEO said that altogether 22 candidates had filed nomination papers but nomination papers of 8 candidates were rejected after scrutiny due to technical errors and added that no one withdrew the names till the last date of withdrawal of names and now 14 candidates are in the fray for the 32-Ara parliamentary constituency and 9 candidates are in the fray for the 195-Agiaw Assembly Constituency. The 14 candidates who are in the fray are Raj Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sudama Prasad of the CPI-ML(Liberation), Manmohan Singh of Rashtriya Janlok Party-Satya, Simutra Devi of Jakruk Janata Party, Dharmatma Sharam of Socialist Unit Centre of India (Communist), Navneet Kumar, Krishna Paswan of Bharatiya Kranti Veer Party, Shiv Das Singh, Ashok Tiwari, Virendra Kumar Singh, Randheer Lal, Ramashraya Sing of People’s Party of India (Democratic), Lal Badshah Singh of Bahujan Samaj Party and Ram Jee Singh of Voters Party International while the 9 candidates for the 165-Agiaw Assembly Constituency are Shiv Prakash Ranjan of the CPI-ML (Liberation), Prabhu Nath Prasad of theJD(U), Vijay Mehara, Sonu Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Bhikhari Ram, Upendra Kumar, Saraswati Devi and Upendra Kumar.

He said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has provided enough police force to the Bhojpur district administration for the security point of view during election slated to be held on June 1, 2024. He said that the inter-district and inter-State borders of Bhojpur district will be monitored using drones and boats in the river Ganga so that any attempt of anti-social elements to influence the voters and voting process can be foiled. He said that the second randomization of the EVM machines will be done in the presence of election supervisors and all the candidates on May 18, 2024 and with this it will also be decided as to which number of EVM machines will be used in which Legislative Assembly. The DEO added with this the work of EVM sealing will also start at the dispatch centres under the supervision of ARO and in the presence of the candidates or their representatives. He said that the polling personnel to be deployed at the polling booths will be allotted work along with second random survey in the presence of Assembly-wise election observers on Thursday. The second phase training will be imparted to the polling personnel at Maharaja College on May 19, 2024. During the second phase of training itelf, these polling personnel will be asked to cast their vote through ballot papers. They can also vote in the favour of their favorite candidate.

The DEO said that separate Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) have been appointed for all the seven assembly constituencies under 32-Ara Parliamentary Constituency of which Ara SDO, Lal Jyotinath Shahdeo for the 192-Sandesh Assembly Constituency, ADM Manoj Jha for the 193-Badahara Assembly Constituency, DCLR, Ara Shweta Mishra for the 194-Ara Assembly Constituency, DCLR, Piro, for the 195-Agiaw Assembly Constituency, SDO, Piro, Anil Kumar Singh for the 196-Tarari Assembly Constituency, SDO, Jagdishpur Sanjeet Kumar for the 197-Jagdishpur Assembly Constituency and DCLR, Jagdishpur, Amrendra Kumar for the 198-Shahpur Assembly Constituency have been assigned the task of the AROs.

The DEO further stated that the 32-Ara Parliamentary Constituency has 2249 polling booths of which 658 polling booths are made in one building while the number of two polling booths in complex are 420, the number of three polling booths in a complex is 111, the number of four polling booths in a complex is 73, the number of five polling booths in a complex is 16 and the number of six polling booths in a complex is 5.

The SP Neeraj Kumar Singh said that the a teams of flying squad and SST conducted raids at different places of Bhojpur district and seized over Rs. 1.18 crore and also seized over 43000 litres of liquor.
