At least eight children most of them were teenagers, met their watery grave in the river Sone in Rohtas district while having a dip in the river in two different incident at two separate places. Bodies of six children were fished out while body of a minor child is still missing. A team of SDRF is searching for the body.

SASARAM-------------------------At least eight children most of them were teenagers, met their watery grave in the river Sone in Rohtas district while having a dip in the river in two different incident at two separate places. Bodies of six children were fished out while body of a minor child is still missing. A team of SDRF is searching for the body. The deceased were identified as Nidhi Kumari and 12, Navya Kumari 13, daughters of Nandu Gond of Milan Chowk in Ranchi in Jharkhand and his son Pawan Kumar, Raju Gond 12 son of Krishna Gond, Vivek Kumar 12 son of Heera Lal  Gond, Abhay Kumar 10 son of Kedar Gond of Tumba village in Rohtas district in Bihar, and Raju Yadav 19 son of Lal Bihari Yadav of Belaunji village under Nauhatta police station in Rohtas district. Police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Gungun Kumari 8 daughter of Nndu Gond is still missing. Chaos prevails in and around the Tumba village following the incident.

Geeta Devi along with her husband Nandu Gond and children Nidhi Kumari, Navya Kumari and Pawan Kumar from Milan Chowk locality at Ranchi in Jharkhand had come to her parents Munni Prasad Gond at Tumba village under Rohtas police station in Rohtas district of Bihar. In the afternoon, Nidhi Kumari, Navya Kumari and Pawan Kumar, children of Nandu Gond, Raju Gond and Ranjeet Gond sons of Krishna Gond, Vivek Kumar son of Heera Lal Gond alias Tunnu, Abhay Kumar son of Abhay Kumar of Tumba village under Rohtas police station in Rohtas district of Bihar had gone to the river Sone near the Tumba village to have a dip in the afternoon on October 6, 2024. While having a dip, all of them went into the deep water and drowned in the river. Seeing his brother and sister drowning, Ranjeet Gond son of Krishna Gond hurried back to his house and informed about the incident. The family members rushed to the spot and also informed the police. On information, the police arrived at the spot and also a team of SDRF was requisitioned in the rescue operation. The SDRF team fished out bodies of six children while body of a minor Girl Gungun Kumari is still missing. The SDRF team is searching for the body. Later the police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

In another incident, one youth Raju Yadav 19 son of Lal Bihari Yadav also drowned into the river Sone while having a dip in the river near Belaunja village under Nauhatta police station in Rohtas district. Local divers fished out the body and the police brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

Lal Bihari Yadav father of the deceased said that Raju Yadav had gone to the river Sone near Belaunja village under Nauhatta police station to take bath in the river. While having a dip, he went into the deep water and met his watery grave. His friends raised alarm. Hearing their cry, the villagers rushed to the spot and the local divers fished out the body from the river after three hours.
