ARA---------------------------The Enforcement Directorate (ED) further tightened its noose around the Janata Dal (United) MLC Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee’s in connection with illegal Sand business and issued notices on him and his Kanhaiya with a direction to appear in the ED office within 15 days and reply.

ED sources said that Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee, an JD(U) MLC from Ara-Buxar Local Authority Area, is accused of promoting illegal business of sand in association with sand mafias in Bihar.

This is the third action against the MLC within seven months. The Income Tax department had raided at 22 places in tax evasion cases for three days and lodged an FIR with the police under Bihata police station and made many important revelations and again the Ed had raided at 27 places in Patna, Dhanbad, Hazaribag, Kolkata. This raid was conducted at the places of directors, Chartered Accountants and other associates of M/S Brodson Commodities Private Limited and M/S Aditya Multicom Private Limited on June 6, 2023. The ED recovered Rs. 1.5 crore in cash, documents of properties worth about Rs. 11 crore, Rs. 6 crore deposited in bank during the raids and also freezed 60 bank accounts. The Income Tax Department and the ED had also conducted raids at different places of Seth Jee from Patna to Ara and also from Noida to Gudgaon and now the ED issued notice to Seth Jee and his son Kanhaiya and called them to its office at Patna within 15 days. The Income Tax department also got evidence of black money earned from illegal sand business. It was said that Seth Jee invests this black money in Regal Hotel and Regal Resort at Ara, Hotel and Resort at Haridwar and Mystick Ground Resort at Manali.  

Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Jee is a big businessman of the area and has hotels, resorts and sand businesses. He was earlier in the RJD but now he is an MLC of JD(U).
