The Enforcement Department (ED) registered Enforcement Case Investigation Report (ECIR) and started investigation against the JD(U) MLC, Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji after evidences in connection with money laundering came to light. The ED grilled the MLC, Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji for about nine hours on August 30, 2023 at its Patna based office in connection with scams worth of crores of rupees related to illegal mining of sand and contract of sand ghats by fake means. The also is reportedly grilling him even today. His son Kanhaiya had also accompanied his father to comply with the notice of the ED but the officials of the ED sent him back from the gate of the ED office.

ARA---------------------The Enforcement Department (ED) registered Enforcement Case Investigation Report (ECIR) and started investigation against the JD(U) MLC, Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji after evidences in connection with money laundering came to light.
The ED grilled the MLC, Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji for about nine hours on August 30, 2023 at its Patna based office in connection with scams worth of crores of rupees related to illegal mining of sand and contract of sand ghats by fake means. The also is reportedly grilling him even today. His son Kanhaiya had also accompanied his father to comply with the notice of the ED but the officials of the ED sent him back from the gate of the ED office.
The ED officials asked nine questions from Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji regarding scams worth of crores of rupees related to illegal mining of sands, contract of sand ghats by fake means, entire network of illegal sand mining, persons engaged in illegal business and earnings from the illegal trade though he appeared unable to answer many questions. The ED served tea and refreshment from time to time during the interrogation.
The ED asked from the Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji many questions in detail about the racket in the process of taking tender for sand ghats in Bihar, illegal mining of sand and unethical earnings from it and also about its distribution. But Seth Ji did not answer many question asked about the people involved in sand mafia and the distribution of illegal money earned from the illegal sand mining. The ED also queried about as to what level of people are involved in this illegal business, how many white collar people are involved in this illegal sand business, how they provide help or protection and how the money earned from the illegal sand mining reaches them. The ED wrote down all the replies of Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji before him and got his signature on all the pages after being shown to him.
The Ed also asked about Seth’s early life as to how he used to run a simple sweet shop near Ara railway station at Ara and as to how he travelled this far in such a short time.
A special team of the ED had at more than 27 locations in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on June 5, 2023 related to illegal sand mining and had seized a large number of documents related to sand mining and its illegal trade under Brodson Commodities Private Limited and Aditya Multcom , a company owned by Radha Charan Sah alias Seth Ji and his son Kanhaiya.
During the raid, the ED misappropriation of crores of rupees had come to fore by issuing fake e-challans and also without the permission of the concerned department. The ED had seized Rs. 1.5 crore in cash, fixed deposits of over Rs. 6 crore, documents and papers of properties worth about Rs. 11 crore and over 60 bank accounts of Radha Charan Sah and his partners from all their locations. Evidence of black money of more than Rs. 250 crore of mafias was also revealed. Earlier, the Income Tax Department had conducted raid and detected tax evasion of over Rs. 150 crore. The ED will interrogate Kanhaiya, son of Seth Ji on September 1, 2023.
