ED CONDUCT RAID AT THE RESIDENCE OF THE RJD MLA FROM AGIAW IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT

Enforcement Department (ED) conducted raid at the residence of the MLA, Rashtriya Janata Dal at Agiaw village under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur district, Kiran Devi in the morning on February 27, 2024 while the family members of the MLA were not at the residence in connection with land for job matter. Besides, the ED conducted raids at two places in Patna and at Danapur though as per the report of a new agency, ANI, the action is related to money laundering. The president RJD MLA Kiran Devi is the wife of Arun Yadav who is a former MLA of the RJD. Arun Yadav is said to be very close acquaintance of Laloo Yadav. A team of CBI had raided her house at Agiaw in the month of January last year too. The ED team broke into the residence of the MLA in Patna.

Ara (RNI) Enforcement Department (ED) conducted raid at the residence of the MLA, Rashtriya Janata Dal at Agiaw village under Gadhani police station in Bhojpur district, Kiran Devi in the morning on February 27, 2024 while the family members of the MLA were not at the residence in connection with land for job matter. Besides, the ED conducted raids at two places in Patna and at Danapur though as per the report of a new agency, ANI, the action is related to money laundering. The president RJD MLA Kiran Devi is the wife of Arun Yadav who is a former MLA of the RJD. Arun Yadav is said to be very close acquaintance of Laloo Yadav. A team of CBI had raided her house at Agiaw in the month of January last year too. The ED team broke into the residence of the MLA in Patna. At Ara, a team of 10 officer of the ED in six vehicles arrived at the residence of the MLA Kiran Devi at Agiaw along with a unit of the CRPF at about 5.15am today when the MLA along with her family members had gone to a relative to participate in a function. The elder son of the MLA is at his residence and the ED team is interrogating him. 

The MLA Kiran Devi and her husband and former MLA Arun Yadav are on medical leave since January 30, 2024 when the CBI had issued summon for query. The former MLA Arun Yadav was to go to Singapore for nephrological treatment.

The ED also conducted raid at Patna residence and at a flat No 403 at Maa Marachhiya Devi Apartment at Danapur. The ED team intruded the flat No 403 to conduct raid. The neighbour said that the ED had conducted raid several times at the flat No 403 earlier and once again the ED conducted raid today but nothing is percolating so far.

Arun Yadav had been an MLA from Sandesh before he was implicated in false sex scandal. He is considered to be very close to the former Chief Minister of Bihar, Laloo Prasad. His wife Kiran Devi became the MLA on RJD ticket from Sandesh for the first time. RJD MLA Kiran Devi’s husband and former MLA Arun Yadav is associated with sand business and reportedly accumulated huge property in Patna. He has a palace like building at Agiaw in Bhojpur district where the ED conducted raid today. In the year 2023 January 16, Arun Yadav was at the radar of the CBI a team of CBI had conducted raid at different locations of the former MLA Arun Yadav in the January last year. The CBI also conducted raid at the residence of present MLA Kiran Devi this year and had given a notice to her. Since, it was understood that a team of ED would conduct the raid. It is also said that Arunn Yadav had donated a number of flats to the family members of Laloo Yadav and the CBI had conducted raids in this regard.

During his tenure at the Union Railway Minister in the UPA government 2004-2009, Laloo Prasad had given seven persons job in the Group D of Raiway and had got land registered in his named in return. As per the charge sheet filed by the CBI, Laloo Prasad and his family members are accused of getting land registered in their named in lieu of job in railways. In Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hajipur zones. Laloo Prasad and his family members got more than one lakh square feet of land registered in their names merely on Rs. 25 lakh while as per the rate of the circulating areas at that time was about Rs. 4.39 crore. Land owners were given cash for transfer of land in most of the cases. All these games were played in the name of gift and sale deed.

For the first the railway minister Mamta Banarjee in the UPA-2 government in the year 2009 had raised this matter in the parliament that caused ripples in the government and the railway minister had asked for CBI inquiry in this matter. At time, Laloo Prasad had said that he knew nothing in this regard and he is concerned with his work with honesty.

The CBI lodged an FIR on September 23, 2001 against Laloo Prasad and his family members in connection with corruption and the ED entered midway. The ED lodged a first case in this regard on January 8, 2024 and now the CBI and the ED are inspecting the matter separately.
