District Magistrate took a tough stand on the irregularities in private schools, said constitute a committee and investigate

Hardoi (RNI) In the context of the memorandum submitted by the Parents' Association Hardoi to the District Magistrate on 07 April 2025, a meeting was held on 11 April 2025 at the District Magistrate's Office on the issues of unfair financial burden on parents and violation of rules by private schools. Private school management, district administration officials and education officers, and representatives of the Parents' Association were present in the meeting.
The District Magistrate expressed strong displeasure over the violation of Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Independent School (Fee Regulation) Act, 2018 and other guidelines. The District School Inspector was directed to investigate the schools which have increased the fees by more than 5 percent without permission. Action will be taken against the guilty schools as per rules.
Booksellers were summoned on complaints of pressure to buy books and copies from designated shops, overcharging above print rates, and not providing GST bills. The process of forming a special team for investigation has begun.
Information was sought from the management about the reasons for road blockade and protest by parents against the school on the St. Xavier's School dispute. The District Magistrate assured the Parents' Association of redressal of grievances. It was said that it is mandatory to follow ride and safety standards when sending children to school by auto or other means. The decision to send children to school was left to the discretion of the parents.
Instructed to make the District Fee Regulatory Committee more active so that the complaints of parents are resolved quickly. Parents Association President Gopal Dwivedi said, "The District Magistrate's instructions are a matter of relief for the parents. We demand that the investigation should be time-bound and strict action should be taken against the culprits." General Secretary Danish Kirmani also stressed on the arrangement of water in buses and solution to the problem of traffic jam.
Presenting the side of the Parents' Association, Patron Rakesh Pandey said that we are ready to cooperate with the administration and hope that the arbitrariness of private schools will be curbed. Advocate Sunil Singh and Naval Kishore were also present on behalf of the Parents' Association. After detailed talks, the District Magistrate asked the Parents' Association to submit a detailed report regarding the rules etc.
