ARA (RNI) Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a dreaded criminal and threw his body in between Sakaddi and Kulharia villages under Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road in Bhojpur district in the night on June 4, 2024. The deceased was identified as Mithilesh Paswan 28 son of Suresh Paswan of Dhandiha (Kuberchak) village Ward No 2 under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Koelwar police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
Sadar-2 DSP Ranjeet Kumar Singh said that Mithilesh Paswan had gone to his friend’s sister at Anand Nagar locality under Ara town police station on motorcycle in the evening. When he was returning home, some armed miscreants intercepted him and took him to a secluded place where they pumped at least 10 bullets into his body. Later they threw the body in between Sakaddi and Kulharia village on Ara-Patna main road and escaped from the scene. The patrolling police rushed him to the Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead. The DSP further said that on information, he along with police force reached the Ara Sadar Hospital and knew about the deceased in detail from his family members. The DSP stated that the deceased was a dreaded criminal and over a dozen criminal cases like loot, murder, extortion and Arms Act are pending with the police under Chandi, Koelwar, Ara town, Giddha and Arwal police stations and he was absconding.
It may be mentioned here that a bomb was exploded at the N.S. Mall at Shivganj under Ara town police station on April 29, 2016 for not giving extortion amount and Mithilesh Paswan was also one of the accused in the case.
