DREADED CRIMINAL ESCAPES FROM POLICE CUSTODY, POLICE ARREST THREE FOR HELPING HIM

Ara, 5 January 2023, (RNI): A dreaded criminal Ashish Paswan slipped from the police custody and escaped when he was brought from Bhagaklpur to produce in the Ara Civil Court. Meanwhile, Bhojpur police arrested three persons in connection with helping Ashish Paswan fleeing from police custody from the Ara civil court. The arrested persons were identified as Ankit Kumar son of late Pradeep Paswan of Gausganj, Laloo Kumar son of Ramu Prasad of Tari Mohalla and Manjeet Kumar son of Prabhu Gond of Badaki Singahi under Ara town police station.  

DSP Binod Kumar Singh said that Ashish Paswan is a resident of Gausganj locality under Ara town police station and was named in several criminal cases. He had surrendered in the Ara Civil Court in July 2020 in connection with murder of Mithun Paswan  and was sent to jail under judicial custody. Later he was shifted to the Shaheed Zubba Sahani Jail in Bhagalpur on December 4, 2022. He was brought to the Ara Civil Court from Bhagalpur to produce in the court under tight security.

 He was produced in a court in connection with a murder case and was taken to the second court but he slipped from the police custody and escaped. He blamed the Bhagalpur jail administration with thrashing him and prayed the court to shift him again to the Ara jail.

Ashish Paswan was also wanted in the snatching of Rs. 10 lakh from a businessman after pumping bullet into his body in the year 2014 near police office road in Bihia, loot from a petrol pump at Gausganj and smuggling.

Earlier one dreaded criminal Manish Singh alias Hero had escaped from police custody from the Ara Civil Court campus in the year 2017 and committed several crimes after his escape though he was killed in police encounter.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the police are conducting raids to arrest Ashish Paswan and would be arrested very soon.
