DHARANA AT ARA CIRCLE OFFICE

ARA (RNI) Hundreds of the supporters of the CPI-ML staged a day long dharana at the Circle Office at Ara today under the ‘Give Rights, Keep Promises’ campaign. In the economic survey of the State government, 98 lakh families live on an income of less than Rs. 6000, a grant of Rs. 2lakh was announced for them but no Circle Officers of Bhojpur district issue a certificate of income of less than Rs. 6000 per month. 

The CPI-ML staged a massive demonstration at the Ara block headquarters to press the demands of making income certificate less than Rs. 6000, 5 decimal land, pucca houses and looting in mutation and looting in public distribution. A meeting was also held at the demonstration site under the presidentship of Rajnath Ram, CPI-ML District Committee member.

Speaking on the occasion, Sudama Prasad, Ara MP, said that their son and brother has won the just concluded parliamentary election and that is why questions about problems of labourers, farmers, retailers, electricity, Sone canal, Sahara India’s issue of rupees are being raised in the parliament for the first time. He said that he will be in Delhi during the parliament session otherwise he will be with the people of Bhojpur and will fight for their causes. He stated that the movement based on the demand of 5 decimal land for the poor will gain momentum further and assured that they would be successful in their movement.

Qyamuddin Ansari, CPI-ML State Committee member and Insaaf Manch State Secretary, said that the Ara Circle Office has become a den of corruption. The common man is being exploited and harassed in the name of mutation and delimitation, tremendous looting is going on with impunity in these names. He demanded the Ara CO to issue income certificates of less than Rs. 6000 per month to each and every poor and also demanded to rectify the irregularities in construction of Pucca houses.

The CO-in-Charge came on the dharana site and received the magna-carta of the agitating people and also submitted 4500 applications for the income certificates in the Circle Office.

Some prominent persons present at the dharana site included State Committee member cum Ara Town Secretary Sudhir Singh, State Committee members cum Muffassil Secretary Vijay Ojha, District Office Secretary Dilraj Priyatam, Kamta Prasad Bind, Upendra Pal, Mahesh Paswan, Hare Ram Singh, Roushan Kushwaha, Suresh Paswan, Santvilas Ram, Rajendra Yadav, Harishankar Sah and others.
