DEPUTY MAYOR REPRESENTATIVE OPENED FRONT AGAINST THE MAYOR REPRESENTATIVE, 36 CONTRACTS TO BROTHER-IN-LAW OF THE MAYOR IN SIX MONTHS

Ara, 29 June 2023, (RNI): The war of words in between the representatives of Mayor and the Deputy Maror, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) has gained momentum. The representative and husband of the Deputy Mayor Saroj Singh showed aggressive and lashed out at Prem Pankaj alias Lalan, representative and husband of the Mayor, Indu Devi after the later leveled allegation against the former. Saroj Singh not only called Prem Pankaj a corrupt and looter but also expressed apprehension of danger to his life from him.

Saroj Singh said that the Mayor and her representative gave 36 government contracts to her brother-in-law (devar) Chhotu in just six months, the proof of which is papers and photographs with him. He said that the money spent in contesting Mayor election was looted from the AMC in just six months.

Saroj Singh from the endowment of Sairats to tax collection, the Mayor representative is collecting huge amount of money keeping the Deputy Mayor in dark. Producing evidences before the media persons, he blamed that not only did he do scams in the departmental work but also got many works done in the name of his younger brother. He added that there would be no game of AMC’s commission during her tenure, she had promised this at time of election. But Prem Pankaj, husband and representative of the Mayor, is leveling false allegation against him while he himself is taking huge amount in the name of commission. He added that the Mayor is taking three and half percent commission. Prem Pankaj had sent a part of commission to him but he had returned it. He blamed that Prem Pankaj collected a huge amount from appointment of tax collector to daily recovery from Sairats by putting the name of peon. He stated that recovery is being shown in the name of peons working in his office while someone else is doing the recovery. He has been opposing this for days as to how one man recover from three places He stated that is was not expected that ‘gangotri’ of corruption would flow in the AMC when Mayor and Deputy Mayor were made from the same pulse but the Mayor representative Prem Pankaj alias Lalan is not only doing arbitrariness but also not allowing the development works to be done.

Saroj Singh challenged if he had threatened him with dire consequences, give proof, just saying will help. He added that after being Deputy Mayor, there have been fatal attacks on him, his wife Deputy Mayor and also at his residence twice. He has lodged an FIR in this regard but police do not provide security.

Saroj Singh further said that he is strongly opposing privatization of the AMC’s work and would continue to do so till his last breath. He blamed that the Mayor representative is giving tenders of the AMC to his loved ones in the absence of the Mayor and papers are being signed in back dates. Saroj Singh said that if Ara sinks during mansoon this year, only Prem Pankaj, deeply immersed in corruption, will be responsible. He added that the name of Deputy Mayor is not given in any work of the board which tells how dictatorially he is working.

On the other hand, Prem Pankaj alias Lalan, husband and representative of the Mayor, AMC Indu Devi, talking to media persons refuted all the charges and said that the Mayor supervised the works round the clock but the Deputy Mayor tried to manage the ward councilors sitting in a hotel. He said that he has written to the Ministry of Urban Development for the fixation of rates for the sairats and as soon as the ministry send the letter, the Mayor would act accordingly adding that for the time being he gave details of charges to be realized from the sairats.
