DEPARTMENTAL ACTION IS TO BE DONE AGAINST THE BHOJPUR DEO

ARA (RNI) The Education Department has decided to take departmental action against the District Education Officer (DEO), Bhojpur, Ahasan. This departmental action is being taken against the DEO Ahasan owing to negligence in duty and self-willed behaviour. Administrative Director, Education Department Subodh Kumar Chaudhary has issued order in this regard. According to the official information issued by the department, Bhojpur DEO, Ahasan was asked to conduct visits of schools under his control in Bhojpur district for the last one year but even after this, on July 4, 2024, when the Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department, S. Sidharth inspected the schools and Block Resource Centre at Bihia in Bhojpur, many deficiencies and irregularities were found there. Photographs related to the irregularities found during the inspection were also made available to the DEO by the Additional Chief Secretary which shows that Ahasan did not take seriously the required improvements in the found irregularities. In his context, State Project Director, Bihar Education Project Council, B. Karthikey Dhanee serveda show cause notice on Ahasn asking him since last one year you have been conducting inspection of schools on daily basis and in that context it appears as if the education department has been provided with wrong information as the Additional Chief Secretary had found a number irregularities in schools during his visit. It is also clear from the said irregularities that either there has been negligence in the inspection by the personnel appointed for the inspection or you were not serious in rectifying the irregularities found in the report after reviewing its inspection reports. This is indicative of the laxity on part of you that continues despite the orders and your indifference in achieving the targets set by the department. It was also directed in the show cause notice to submit the clarification within stipulated time and if he failed to respond within the prescribed time limit, it will be assumed that he has nothing to say on the matter. Reportedly, the DEO gave reply late to the question. Hence action was proposed against him due to his self-willed behaviour.

Additional Secretary, Education Department Sunil Naar has been appointed as the operational officer and Regional Deputy Director (RDD), Patna Division has been appointed as the Presentation Officer to conduct this departmental action.
