DEHARI RPF AND GRP ARRESTED FOUR DRUG PEDDLERS, SEIZED 77 KILOGRAMS OF OPIUM WORTH ABOUT Rs. 5 CRORE IN ROHTAS

SASARAM-----------------------------The RPF and GRP, Dehari-on-Sone post arrested four drug peddlers from near Station Superintendent Officer at Platform No 3 at the Dehari railway station in Rohtas district and also seized 77 kilograms of opium worth about Rs. 5 crore in the international market. The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Dhanraj Kumar 19 of Rampur Bodhgaya under Bodhgaya police station, Shiva Kumar 21 of Katoriya village under Bodhgaya police station, Dheeraj Kumar 24 and Shailendra Rai of Murwakhas village udner Isuapur police station in Chhapara district. A named FIR was lodged with the police under the GRP in the regard and the police sent them to jail after interrogation.

SHO GRP, Dehari railway station Ram Vilas Ram said that the police located four suspected persons near the office of the Station Superintendent at Platform No 3, Dehari railway station in Rohtas district who were carrying bags in their hands. Seeing the police, they tried to flee but the police chased and caught all of them. The police recovered 26.2 kilograms of opium from Dhanraj Kumar, 17 kilograms of opium from Shiva Kumar, 17 kilograms of opium from Dheeraj Kumar and 13 kilogram of opium from Shailendra Rai.

RPF Inspector said that the drug peddlers had reached Dehari from Sherghati of Gaya in a Bus and were waiting for Ganga-Sutalaz Express train at the Dehari railway station. The drug peddlers were to take the opium consignment to Chandigarh. The police also recovered reserved railway ticket of Ganga-Sutalaz Express train for Ambala from Dehari. He said that the police are trying to know about their syndicate.

It may be mentioned here that a team of RPF, Dehari, CPDS, Gaya and CIB, Gaya jointly had arrested two drug peddlers from Dehari railway station on January 29, 2024 and had seized Brown Sugar worth about Rs. 2.90 lakh. The arrested drug peddlers were residents of Jharkhand.
