DEAD WOMAN FOUND ALIVE AFTER TWO MONTHS
A said to be dead woman found alive in Bhojpur district. After being tortured by her in-laws the woman had fled away from house for about two months ago. An FIR was lodged with the police in this on the statement of Shanti Devi, mother of woman against her in-laws blaming they had killed her merely for a buffalo but surprisingly the police recovered her alive after two months and thus the curtain downed.

ARA (RNI) A said to be dead woman found alive in Bhojpur district. After being tortured by her in-laws the woman had fled away from house for about two months ago. An FIR was lodged with the police in this on the statement of Shanti Devi, mother of woman against her in-laws blaming they had killed her merely for a buffalo but surprisingly the police recovered her alive after two months and thus the curtain downed.
Shanti Devi of Belwalia village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district said that she had got her daughter Sonam Devi 33 married to the son of Lakhan Gond son of Lallu Gond of Piparpati village under Krishnagarh police station on May 26, 2022 according to Hindu customs and traditions. After days of marriage, her in-laws started torturing her physically and mentally merely for a gold chain and a buffalo. The matter reached the court and after which the FIR was closed after reconciliation with the in-laws. The situation was alright for quite some time but the in-laws soon started torturing her again. Sonam Devi always complained that she was thrashed frequently. Meanwhile, her husband called on December 7, 2024 that Sonam Devi had fled away from the house. At this her family members reached the in-laws and found Sonam Devi missing. Shant Devi said that she smelt a rat that some untoward had happened to Sonam Devi and lodged a named FIR with the police under Krishnagarh police station against her in-laws on December 11, 2024. After institution of FIR, the police swung into action and recovered Sonam Devi from Patna and handed her over to her family members.
Sonam Devi said that after the marriage all the jewelries were taken away and she was frequently thrashed merely for a gold chain and a buffalo and they also sold all the jewelries. After being fed with the daily torture, she fled away and reached her parents’ house but after compromise her parents sent her back to her in-laws. But after ten days, they again started thrashing her. She further said that she did not want to go to her in-laws’ house again. She had 8 year old son Ayush Kumar who also said that his father always beat his mother mercilessly with a stick in front of him and did not even give food.
Narrating her pain amidst sobbing, Sonam Devi said that ever since she got married, she was beaten up. She accused her husband of having illicit relations with her sister-in-law (bhabhi). Finding no way out, she fled away to Patna where she lived at the Station and resorted to begging.
Rahul Kumar, brother of Sonam Devi said that she used to, earn her living by begging in Patna. He knew about it from her mobile though her mobile was off for several months. When it was turned on, a message came through notification about her where about and informed the police that the mobile was switched on. After that the police tracked her. He said that Sonam Devi had run away at 10am on December 8, 2025 and the police was informed on December 8, 2025.
