ARA----------------------Bhojpur District Consumer Commission (DCC) slapped a fine of Rs. 18.10 lakh on three doctors, one compounder and Sheela Emergency Hospital and also ordered to deposit the amount with 60 days in connection with death of a married woman during treatment. The District Consumer Commission slapped a fine of Rs. 18.10 lakh on Sheela Emergency Hospital situated at Ara-Sasaram main road, Dr. Pawan Kumar, Dr.Bhagirathi Soni Devi alias Bhagirathi Prasad Chaurasia and Dr. Anil Kumar alias Dr. Anil Kumar Ram and a compounder Jitendra alias Kunal.

Chairperson, Bhojpur District Consumer Commission, Krishana Pratap Singh said that Rs. 5 lakh was slapped each on Dr. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Bhagirathi Soni Devi alias Bhagirathi Prasad Chaurasia and Dr. Anil Kumar alias Anil Kumar Ram while Rs. 2 lakh slapped on the compounder Jitendra alias Kunal. Rahul Sharma of Bhelai village under Udwantnagar police station had filed a case in the Bhojpur District Consumer Commission on June 16, 2018 against the doctors, compounder and the hospital in connection with death of his wife Rukmina Devi due to their negligence in her treatment. Rahul Sharma said that after thorough examination and pathological test, the doctors operated upon her wife at the emergency hospital for abortion but Dr. Pawan Kumar said at about 1.03pm that the patient is unconscious and referred her to Patna at about 4pm. Dr. Bhagirathi Soni Devi alias Bhagirathi Prasad Chaurasia seated Rukmani Devi on the front seat of an ambulance along with all the pathological examination reports. As the ambulance reached near Dhobighatawa, Dr. Bhagirathi Devi Soni alias Bhagirathi Prasad Chaurasia alighted from the ambulance on the pretext of peeing and fled away with all the pathological examination reports and other papers leaving his wife Rukmani Devi in critical position. When he returned to the Sheela Emergency Hospital, all the doctors and employees were absent and the hospital was locked.

Rahul Sharma has one son Rohan Sharma 6 and two daughters Neha Sharma 4 and Puja Sharma 10 months old and so the court ordered to deposit Rs. 5 lakh in the fix deposit in the name of each of the three minor children so that their future could not be spoiled.
