Central government should restore all facilities including recognition to new journalists: Ramnath Vidrohi
Patna (RNI) International President of SAARC Journalist Forum and head of Indian Journalist Association (IJA) Ramnath Vidrohi has demanded the Central Government to immediately restore all the facilities along with giving recognition to new journalists.
Mr. Vidrohi has made a demand to this effect after the online meeting of IJA held recently. He said that PIB is being hesitant in giving recognition to new journalists. Applications of many are pending for years.Railway concession is being closed since the Corona period. Other facilities are also not being provided. In the meeting, it was decided to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Railway Minister and Railway Board.
He said that in this meeting the members raised concerns about difficulty in getting recognition, difficulty in applying for pension, implementation of journalist protection law, denial of comforts and facilities to mofussil journalists by the newspaper's management, murder of a journalist/management even in case of emergency. And expressed serious concern over the government for not providing any compensation or any relief. For this, it was decided to meet the Chief Ministers of various states along with the Union Home Minister and Information Minister.
While presiding over the meeting, IJA National President Mr. Vidrohi talked about fighting an all-out fight in all matters and directed the state presidents of various states present in the meeting to work in the interest of the organization.
In the meeting, National Vice President Md. Sabib Alam (Kolkata), National General Secretary Satendra Satyam, National Secretary Anish Kumar, National Organization General Secretary Ranjesh Kumar Jha Alok, Santosh Kumar National Treasurer, besides Bihar State President Ajit Kumar Pandey, Jammu and Kashmir State President Farooq Shahmir, Hyderabad President Afroz Qureshi and Gujarat President Mohd. Tufail Alam were present in the meeting.
