COUGH SYRUP WORTH ABOUT Rs. 41 LAKH SEIZED IN KAIMUR
-Kaimur police seized 100 cartons of banned cough syrups mixed with cocaine worth about Rs. 41 lakh and loaded in a truck near Kiluria village under Durgawati police station and arrested the driver.
BHABHUA (RNI) Kaimur police seized 100 cartons of banned cough syrups mixed with cocaine worth about Rs. 41 lakh and loaded in a truck near Kiluria village under Durgawati police station and arrested the driver. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Durgawati police station in this regard under the NTPC Act. The arrested truck driver was identified as Tez Bahadur of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Later the police sent him to jail after interrogation.
SDPO Mohania Dilip Kumar said that vehicle checking was going near a check-post under Durgawati police station in Kaimur district when a truck came from Uttar Pradesh. The police stopped the truck and queried the driver as to what was inside the truck. The driver told the police that there was garlic in the truck. The police suspected and when searched, seized 2000 litre packed in 100 cartons of banned cough syrup mixed with cocaine. During interrogation, the driver confessed that the consignment was being carried to Kolkata in West Bengal from Uttar Pradesh. He also divulged some information and the police are investigating the matter on the basis of the information given by the arrested truck driver.
