CONSIGNMENT OF IMFL SEIZED, DRIVER AND CLEANER OF THE TRUCK ARRESTED

ARA-------------------------Bhojpur police team along with a team of Alcohol Prohibition Unit and Crime Investigation Department Patna jointly seized India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about lakhs of rupees from a truck near Manbhawan Mor on Ara-Patna main road under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district and also arrested a driver and a cleaner of the truck. The police also seized the truck.

A team of Alcohol Prohibition (AP) from Patna under the leadership of Police Inspector Aman Anand got information that IMFL loaded truck was to enter Bihar through Buxar and also was to go to Muzzaffarpur via Bhojpur. The AP with the help of Bhojpur police and Crime Investigation Department (CID) laid trap and intercepted the truck near Manbhawan Mor when the truck was to turn towards Koelwar-Dorignj road. Seeing the police, the driver and the cleaner of the truck tried to escape but the police chased and caught them. When searched, the police recovered IMFL in heavy quantity and worth lakhs of rupees from the truck. The smugglers were so clever that they kept the bottles of liquor in the middle of the truck and kept a sack of straw around them which could not be opened even after getting them scanned. The IMFL was made in Chandigarh while the truck bore registration number of Uttar Pradesh. The arrested driver and cleaner of the truck are from Muzzaffarpur. Police are interrogation them. Informed sources said that the police also arrested four liners travelling in a Maruti Swift Dzire car and were following the truck but the police did not confirm their arrest.
