CM Bhagwant Mann has lost all moral right to continue in office - Harsimrat K Badal

Mansa/ Sardulgarh (RNI) Former Union Minister and four time Bathinda MP Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said chief minister Bhagwant Mann had lost all moral right to continue in office with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leading in only 33 out of the 117 assembly segments in the parliamentary elections.

Addressing enthusiastic gatherings in Mansa and Sardulgarh constituencies as part of her thanksgiving tour after winning the Bathinda Lok Sabha seat with a thumping majority, Mrs Harsimrat Badal said “ Punjabis have shown Bhagwant Mann how popular he is. Now it is up to Bhagwant Mann to show moral courage and resign from his seat immediately”.  She said this was important as AAP had contested the polls in Mann’s name and the people had rejected him soundly”.

Speaking about the SAD performance at village Fafade Bhai of Mansa, Mrs Badal said Delhi based parties had jointly conspired to defame the SAD in the Lok Sabha elections. She said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress had even chosen candidates to suit each other in their respective seats. She said besides this all the three major parties - the Congress, AAP and the BJP collectively opposed the SAD”.

Asserting that Punjabis had seen through his game and understood the conspiracy, Mrs Badal said she was confident they would support the SAD wholeheartedly in the forthcoming by-elections. She also urged that party cadre to be ready for the by polls.

Terming her victory as the victory of the people, Mrs Badal said “the AAP government pressurised both civil and police officers as well as sarpanches to work for the AAP nominee. In such a situation it was left to the people to reject the AAP candidate who had failed them despite being the Agriculture minister”. Mrs Badal said the people had also ensured the SAD win at the booth level despite direct interference by the Mansa deputy commissioner and the senior superintendent of police.

Mrs. Harsimrat Badal received a stupendous welcome during her thanksgiving tour with people from all walks of life garlanding her profusely and showering rose petals on her. She said she would do her utmost to come up the expectations of the people and raise their voice forcefully in parliament.

Mrs Badal also said that it was painful to observe that the Sikh community which observed the first week of June as Ghallughara Divas  due to attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, had voted for that very Congress which carried out Operation Blue Star and later massacred thousands of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other parts of the country.

Mrs. Badal said that SAD is a party of principles and it would never compromise on the issues of Punjab including the States River waters, it’s capital city of Chandigarh and release of Bandi Sikhs. “For us Punjab and Punjabis will always be first”. She also said that the SAD would continue to work to safeguard the regional aspirations of Punjabis.  EOM
