CLOSE ASSOCIATES OF PAPPU YADAV HATCHED PLAN TO INCREASE HIS SECURITY

ARA (RNI) A youth arrested Ram Babu Rai 21 son of Rameshwar Rai arrested from Chakrahi village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district in connection with sending video of threat to kill the Purnia independent MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav revealed before the police that he was a member of Pappu Yadav’s old Party Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) and the aides of the MP had hatched a plan to send a false threat to the MP merely to increase the security coverage of the MP. The youth is a resident of Dumaria village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district and a class X student.

Purnia SP Kartikey Sharma said that the Purnia MP Pappu Yadav alias Rajesh Ranjan received a video on December 1, 2024 in which he was threatened with dire consequences in the name of a gangster Lawrence Bishnoi if the MP did not apologize with Bishnoi. But later it came to light after thorough investigation that Ram Babu Rai has no link with Lawrence Bishnoi. According the Ram Babu Rai, he has been a supporter of Pappu Yadav and when he had come to Bhojpur two years ago, he came in contact with him and took membership of his Jan Adhikar Party (JAP).

Quoting Ram Babu Rai, the SP said that the MP’s associates contacted Ram Babu Rai and lured him with money. They offered Rs. 2 lakh and assured to make him leader of the Party from Bhojpur district if he sends a video of threat of life to Pappu Yadav merely pressurize the government to increase the security coverage of the MP. After this he became ready and send the video to Pappu Yadav with a threat of life in the name of a dreaded gangster Laurence Bishnoi.

The SP said that Lawrence Bishnoi gang has no role in threatening to kill Pappu Yadav and the young man who sent the video and threatened him on the night on December 1, 2024 has been a leader of his party. He said that it was the MP’s associates who had hatched a conspiracy to send a video and threatened Pappu Yadav with a view to pressurize the government to increase his security and offered Ram Babu Rai Rs. 2 lakh for this. The SP added that Pappu Yadav has got Y category security and now he is demanding Z category security. Recently one of his friends had also gifted him a bulletproof car worth about is to be around Rs. 2 crore.

The SP stated that two video were made in the Pappu Yadav threat case. The first video was sent on the night of December 1, 2024 whereas the second video was to be on due course. Both the videos were already shot. The police will also investigate those close to MP whose names have been disclosed by the accused. The SP further stated that the claims made by Ram Babu Rai about luring and sending the threatening video are being considered as a matter of investigation and added that the allegations made by Ram Babu Rai against the associates of Pappu Yadav whose names have been taken during the course of interrogation, are being investigated and also the police are investigating the statement of Ram Babu Rai as to whether what he has said is true or not.

On the other hand, theMP Pappu Yadav responded to the police theory and accused him of spreading lies and abetting the accused. He stated that till now 26 people from different part of the country and even from abroad such as Malasiya, Pakistan and Nepal and why no action has been taken so far. He added if someone threatened by giving money, the police should reveal the name and arrest. He comprehended that the police are playing with his safety at someone’s behest and is spreading lies and encouraging murderers.

It may be mentioned here that the police had arrested the young man Ram Babu Rai who sent a video on the number of the PA of the Purnia MP Pappu Yadav and threatened him with dire consequences from Dumaria village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. In the investigation of some cases of threats to MP, no connection of those giving threats has been found with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Other agencies along with the special police team are investigating to ensure the security of the MP and to identify those who threatened him.

On the other hand, Munna Yadav, Shahpur Block President, JAP said that the young man who threatened the MP can never be a member of the Party and added that due to the increasing popularity of MP Pappu Yadav in the political background of the country, there is a feeling of unrest and insecurity among the political opponents of Bihar.

Responding to the Press Statement of the Purnia SP, Munna Yadav said that it is not fair that the youth who gave the threat is being described as a member of the JAP. He has been the president of the party in Shahpur since its inception and the youth who made the threat has never been a member of the party adding that without any investigation the youth is being described as a member of the JAP. He stated that Pappu Yadav is the only leader of Bihar whose image is steadfast towards public service. His dawn to dusk activism among the public makes him different from other leaders. His dedication and hard work has not only won the trust of the people but he has also defeated his opponents by winning the independent election from Purnia. He further said due to the increasing populity in Bihar, there is a feeling of unrest and insecurity among his political opponents and as a result, a deep conspiracy is being hatched regarding the security of th MP. Munna Yadav said that this situation is very much embarrassing. The police administration should avoid conspiracies of such person. Proper investigation should be conducted and necessary legal action should be taken against those involved.

Villagers said that Ram Babu Rai used to stay at home less and lived his friends of the village more who were accustomed of drugs and roaming around here and there. His family members were scared of his habits. Jai Shankar Rai, grandfather of Ram Babu Rai, he seldom lived with the family members and also steal from the house. He does not care for his mother at all and his father’s condition is not good. Whenever his mother asked for money, he get angry and abuses her. He said that he knew from the villagers that the police had arrested him because he had threatened an MP. He requested to arrange his meeting with the MP and he would request to release his grandson because he is not mentally perfect and has threatened under someone’s influence.

Ram Babu Rai’s mother Geeta Devi said that after passing standard 10, he fell in the group of wrong people. She always tried to admonish him but in vain. She said as to why he would threaten anyone. He keeps roaming in the village and never spends much time outside the village and spends more time with his friends and his friends made him like them. He is so busy with his friends that he does not come home for two to three months and he took such a step because of wrong association.

The villagers said that he is a supporter of the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and participated in the meetings of the RJD. The villagers also shared some photographs in which Ram Babu Rai is seen with different political leaders. In one photograph, he is seen with Anant Singh’s wife Nilam Devi while in another photograph, he is seen outside the office of the State Student Wing Chief Gagan Kumar. Besides, he is seen giving bouquet to the leader of JD(U) Zama Khan in a photograph.

SHO Shahpur police station Rajnikant said that the police have not found any criminal history of Ram Babu Rai so far and the Purnia Police arrested and took him with them to Purnia.
