CLASS IX STUDENT GANG RAPED, VILLAGERS BLOCKED ROAD, ONE RAPIST ARRESTED

ARA---------------------------Hundreds of activists of the Rashtriya Janshakti Party (LJP) and family members of a teenage girl blocked the road in front of New Emergency Model Building on the campus of the Ara Sadar Hospital in protest against gang rape of a girl student of Class IX in a village under Giddha police outpost area and also against dilly dally behaviour of the police to arrest the rapists even after three days of incident. They raised slogans against the police administration and also paralyzed movement of vehicles. They were demanding arrest of rapists. ASP Parichay Kumar and the SHO, Ara town police station Sanjeev Kumar along with police force rushed to the spot and they tried their best to persuade them. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the police officers and movement of vehicle could be restored. The father of the girl is said to the daughter of rural doctor and district general secretary of a political party. Meanwhile the police arrested one rapist out of six so far. The arrested rapist was identified as Chandrakant Yadav alias Chandan son of Madan Rai of Dumaria village.

About seven youths of the village under Giddh police outpost entered the house of a teenage girl and a student of class IX when she was in her house with her mother and younger brother and her father and elder brother had gone to a marriage ceremony in the village in the night on February 1, 2024 and forcibly took her to a nearby field after abusing her family members and gang raped her. When the family members reached there, they found the girl lying unconscious in the field. They informed the police. On information, the SHO Giddha police outpost Priyashila along with police force arrived at the spot and admitted the girl to the Ara Sadar Hospital. The police got the girl medical examined at the Ara Sadar Hospital and also brought her to the Ara Civil Court to get her statement registered under Section 164 CrPC. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Giddha police outpost in this regard on the statement of the father of the girl against six youths of the village.

Father of the girl said that the incident took place on February 1, 2024 night but the police did not take any action against the named accused. Her daughter got consciousness in the evening on February 2, 2024 and the police pressurized the girl on February 3, 2024 to change her statement saying that statement of her brother and that of hers is conflicting.

District President, LJP, Rajeshwar Prasad Singh demanded capital punishment for the rapists and also demanded an encounter against the rapists.

ASP Parichay Kumar said that an FIR has been lodged in this regard and the Investigating Officer (IO) will inquire into the matter honestly. He added that a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been requisitioned to look into the matter.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that police are doing all legal process in connection with gang rape in a village under Giddha police outpost and a special team has been formed in this regard. He further said that the police are conducting raids to arrest the named accused. He added that the FSL team will inquire into the matter scientifically. He requested the family members of the girl to have patience. The rapists will be arrested very soon.
