ARA---------------------------A five member team of the CBI including the IO Inspectorj Sunil Kushwaha and other officers reached Ara once again on the instruction of CBI’s Joint Director (Bihar-Jharkhand) Rajiv Ranja in the evening on April 14, 2025 to solve the kidnapping mystery of teacher Kamlesh Rai ,of Kolharampur village. He was missing from Mahuli Ghat under Sinha police station of Bhojpur districtd for about twenty months.

Kamlesh Kumar 30 son of Rajesh Kumar of Kolharampur village under Badahara police station in Bhojpur district had gone to Mahuli Ghat under Sinha police station in Bhojpur district on July 13, 2023 from his in-laws’ house at Maulabagh in Ara to attend the cremation of a female relative. He left Mahuli Ghat in the evening saying that he had to go to Badahara for some urgent work but he did not return despite the family members frantically searched for him everywhere. His mobile was switched off and his motorcycle was also not found. An FIR was lodged with the police under Badahara police station in this regard on July 14, 2023, however the police remained inactive. Kamlesh Kumar used to prepare for competitive examinations in Ara and taught at a coaching centre. His father Rajesh Kumar filed a petition in the Patna High Court for the recovery of his son. The court took cognizance and ordered a CBI inquiry. After the order of the Patna High Court, the CBI registered a case on February 28, 2024 and started investigation. The CBI team had come to Ara earlier for investigarting the matter. Apart from the mobile location, the CBI team also tried to get clues by interrogating friends and close relatives.

The CBI team once again reached Ara in the evening on April 14, 2025 to solve the mystery of kidnapping of a teacher Kamlesh Kumar of Kolharampur under Badahara police station who had been missing from Mahuli Ghat under Sinha police station in Bhojpur district since July 13, 2023. The CBI team thistime tried to solve the case through the body of an unknown youth found near the railway track near Kulharia. The team also went to Kulharia and Ara railway station under Danapur rail division of the East Central Railway (ECR) Hajipur and also visited the Ara Sadar Hospital.

The CBI team collected information from the Kulharia village and the village head, villagers and neighours under Koelwar police station about the dead body found near the railway track. According to CBI officials, the Mukhia and other villagers refused to identify the body and said that the youth was from some other village and so the team reviewed the files realged to the postmortem at the Ara Sadar Hospital. The team also went to the GRP at the Ara railway station and took information about the body found on the railway track. After hours of investigations, the CBI team returned.
