CANCER DAY CELEBRATED IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT
Cancer Day was celebrated at all Health Centres of Bhojpur district. Instructionwere given to organize free cancer counseling week at all the health centres from February 4, 2024 to February 10, 2024. Cancer testing of patients will be done in all hospitals. Suspected patients have to be referred to the cancer hospital in Bihar and provided proper treatment.
ARA (RNI) Cancer Day was celebrated at all Health Centres of Bhojpur district. Instructionwere given to organize free cancer counseling week at all the health centres from February 4, 2024 to February 10, 2024. Cancer testing of patients will be done in all hospitals. Suspected patients have to be referred to the cancer hospital in Bihar and provided proper treatment.
Bhojpur District Non-Communicable Disease Officer, Dr. Praveen Kumar Sinha regarding oral cancer, breast cancer and cervix cancer, gave detailed information to the doctors and health workers of the district.
He said that necessary equipment and chemicals for cancer testing have been provided to all health centres. Dr. Sinha said that efforts have been made to create awareness among the people through big hoardings at main places of the town. Instructions have also been given to all health centres to install banners at prominent places for the purpose of creating awareness. He added that cancer can be detected only by showing it and not by hiding it. If cancer is detected at early stages, treatment is cheaper and more convenient. He said that cancer is a fatal disease but there are many ways to prevent it. He said that avoiding smoking, alcohol and unsafe sex is the best ways to avoid cancer.
